Artist Residence, London

Chances are you'll have come across Artist Residence by now and if you haven't then you really should know the name! The group has three insanely decked out properties in Brighton, Penzance and London - if you get the chance to check any of them out, I strongly recommend you do.

Last month, as part of a birthday treat, I was lucky enough to stay at their amazing London offering in Pimlico. The hotel is small (only 10 rooms to its name), quirky and houses The Cambridge Street Kitchen on the ground floor which is well worth a check-in (not least for its interiors!). You instantly feel the 'home away from home' vibes the moment you step in, and your eyes can't help but wander all across the hotel, not least to its rather amusing artwork that leads you up the stairs.

We stayed in The Loft, the hotel's gorgeous airy room in - you guessed it - the loft. Quirky, impeccably cool and beautifully designed (just look at the antler light fitting for reference), there was something so relaxing about the room, I wished never to leave the moment I arrived! In fact, I could have happily moved in and made it my own studio flat.

Sadly it was just for the night and morning came far too soon. It was an early start which meant the morning was spent rushing around as per usual, but I couldn't leave without breakfast in, or rather on, bed. Finishing off the short stay perfectly!

Uh, I think another staycation is calling my name soon...
