Countryside Postcards

With home being less than an hour away from London, it's been nice to be able to pop back easily for a weekend. Home is West Sussex and as it's still quite new to mum and I, we use the time when I visit to go exploring parts of the country that we've never been to before.

The first stop on our country exploration was Cowdray Ruins. In true British fashion, the weather was truly glum, meaning photos were kept to a minimum. All except for this rather cute abandoned dwelling - just LOOK at those staddle stones!

Next on our countryside adventure tick list was hunting down the pretty villages - and you don't get much prettier than Amberley.

Allow me to show you...

It really is one of the most picturesque little places.

Amberley is a tiny village with not a lot going on (or many inhabitants) but has some of the quaintest houses I've ever come across. Anywhere with thatched-rooftops get my seal of approval!

The hardest part of my afternoon was picking out my dream house...

Peering over the wall, this house was definitely a contender...

This one was also in my top three...

But I think I found the one.

^ THE dream house - straight out of a fairytale!

Wandering back through the village we stumbled across more magical corners and mushroom houses.

Stopping by every other house to snap the doortraits, naturally.

Having satisfied our property dreams, we turned our attention to our stomachs.

Making our way to the Amberley Village Tea Room, a charming little sun trap in the heart of the village.

We ordered a round of cream teas and basked in the country sunshine - Saturday bliss!

Got you wanting a trip to the country? I thought so.
