Hotel du Petit Moulin, Paris

One of my 'New Year Resolutions' (perhaps the only one I have a chance of keeping!) was to travel more this year. Travel to new pastures far and travel to much loved places more often. One of those much loved places is Paris which luckily is just a hop and a skip over the Channel, meaning there's not really many excuses to stop me from going. And so, when a January escape became a necessity it was Paris that answered our prayers.

I'll be recommending some of the things we did and places we went over the next few posts, but this one is dedicated to sharing with you our simply fantastic hotel which hosted us for our stay. I think you're rather going to like it...

Hôtel du Petit Moulin is a privately owned hotel set within the heart of the Marais, the oldest quartier in Paris, in a beautiful 17th century building. On first inspection, you could be fooled into thinking you've arrived at a bakery, thanks to its original 1900 boulangerie shop frontage. But step inside and you'll soon discover you're in the right place.

The hotel has 17 individually styled rooms, designed by Christian Lacroix who has transformed the building into the most charming and quirky hotel. Bold and daring with a couture flair, no room is the same but all are flamboyantly theatrical with the undeniable signature style of Lacroix. Our chambre was Deluxe Room 301 in case you're interested (it went down a storm on instagram!) and featured the most magnificent moon and stars artwork above the bed as well as a standalone bathtub, Hermes toiletries in the bathroom and complimentary breakfast, served downstairs in the dining room or in bed!

Each room within the hotel was utterly charming in its own way and it's by far one of my favourite hotels I've ever stayed in. There's something so wonderful about staying in a truly independent hotel in one of Paris' most loved districts. I can't recommend Hôtel du Petit Moulin enough. What's more, you also have access to the Spa at sister hotel, Pavillon de la Reine, and complimentary bicycle access which we didn't do this time round, but would definitely do again - the perfect way to explore Paris if you ask me!

I'm sure you'll agree from the photos below, it's a hotel like no other.

Thank you Hôtel du Petit Moulin for a magical stay!
