Ain't nothing sad about today's post! If you didn't know it already, I'm fully beauty obsessed. I coo over products that promise to save my skin, which (dare I whisper it) as I'm getting older, I need more than ever!
Here are some of my loves at the moment, handily all abiding by the blue and white theme.
Philosophy - When Hope Is Not Enough omega 3-6-9 replenishing oil
Essential fatty acids omega 3 and 6 and unsaturated omega-9 help to stimulate the skin's natural process of renewal and regeneration. The oil is super lightweight and I use it in the evening when my skin has a chance to recover from the daily attacks I put it through. It's gentle and soothing and just feels like it's putting a little love back into my skin. I also rather like the name!
Sunday Riley - Good Genes
A total splurge but not one you need to use every day. Good Genes is a lactic based multitasking treatment that is ideal for skin that, like mine, has all sorts of pigmentation and scarring concerns. The lactic acid gently exfoliates the skin whilst the liquorice in the treatment helps to reduce hyper-pigmentation. Used over time, you'll see the results and, as your skin gets used to it, you'll be able to use on a daily basis to basically, fake good genes.
Sunday Riley - Luna Sleeping Night Oil
On the pricier end of the scale, Luna is a nighttime treatment that works its magic whilst you sleep. It's the kind of oil that I slather on my skin at night when its crying out for some love. Works on the appearance of lines and wrinkles (which keep appearing all over my face at the moment) and helps correct damage caused by pollution, sun, life. You can even use this with Good Genes for a double dose of Sunday Riley magic.
Prismologie - Foot Cream
Often neglected, your feet probably need the most love of them all. Especially as it's coming up to sandal season and god forbid, we have to get them out for all to see. Aside from the mood-enhancing active ingredients in Prismologie's range, this is also a lovely foot cream in its own right. I'm the first to admit I forget to look after my feet, however, a tip to start getting them tip top spring ready: keep the cream by your bed and apply this at night before you go to sleep. That's about as much effort as you need to put in for now. Y'know, before your feet are actually ready to be seen by the lady at the salon for a pedicure.
Malin + Goetz - Recovery Treatment Oil
I love this super lightweight oil which is packed to the brim with natural oils to help soothe, protect, soften and improve your skin. I use in the morning before my daily moisturiser. It sinks straight into the skin and doesn't at all make it feel heavy or oily. Just one extra barrier to help my skin with its daily battle that also smells rather lovely.
Prismologie - Massage Candle
Described to me as smelling 'better than a boyfriend', I have to say, I agree. It's absolutely heavenly to burn thanks to the aromatic oud scent and what's more, it can double as massage oil once its turned into a pool of wax. Heaven never smelt so good.
Malin + Goetz - Replenishing Face Cream
This cream helps to address any skin concerns you have due to damage, ageing and dryness. It helps to restore the skin overnight, keep it hydrated under make-up during the day and also serves as a reparative eye cream. Filled with countless ingredients like shea butter, avocado, jojoba, vitamins A, B, C and E as well as watermelon and chamomile, it's highly nourishing and perfect for those with skin that needs an extra bit of loving.
