NEW SEASON, NEW COAT
I make no secret of my love for autumn, it truly is my favourite season. The rest can just wait as autumn is the time that really brings London into life for me.
I enjoy the darkening days, the colder temperatures. I enjoy the crisp mornings, the freshness in the air and - most importantly for this post - the autumn uniform that goes with it. After seeing a whole host of colours this summer, I'm welcoming muted tones and hues of grey & black back into my life. As someone who wears the staple look of white tee and skinny jeans pretty much on a daily basis, a coat is a fantastic way to finish off a look and pull it altogether, which is why, every new autumn, I pick a new coat for my collection. An investment piece that really gets a solid run through the autumn and winter periods - something that you can whittle the cost per wear down to nothing.
My ceremonial coat hunting begins as soon as the weather turns. This time, it didn't take me long to stumble across this most divine midnight green coat from Jigsaw - an autumnal update on their classic city coat which I may or may not already have in a beautiful silvery tone... (see a previous fashion post here!). It's smart without being formal, bold without being garish and the gorgeous deep green hue is just perfect for helping me camouflage into the season.
A subtle sartorial refresh - all thanks to a new autumn coat.
