Hotel Endsleigh, Dartmoor

As you may have seen on instagram (you can find me here), Mum and I recently took a trip to Cornwall. After whittling down the many many photos I took, I'm finally getting round to sharing our Cornish adventure with you. Beginning in... Devon!

*Yes, I'm aware that's not Cornwall!*

Deciding to break up the trip and the never-ending drive, we decided to stop on our first night in Tavistock at the beautiful Hotel Endsleigh, a Grade I shooting & fishing lodge between Devon's Dartmoor and Cornwall's Bodmin Moor. A fairytale setting and the ideal stopover en route to the Cornish coast.

Hotel Endsleigh is old-y world-y beautiful. The grounds are stunning (I could imagine getting married here - should the occasion ever present itself!) and each room within the house is so well put-together and homely, being individually designed by owner Olga Polizzi. The entire visit was so peaceful (lovely for when you want some peace and quiet however I must admit, the silence over meal times did feel a bit stifling) meaning you are guaranteed to leave feeling calm!

We stayed in one of the hotel's Bedford rooms, Number 5, which you'll see below with its hand-painted wallpaper, chaise longue perched at the end of the bed and stunning views overlooking the garden & beyond, as well as a spacious marble bathroom complete with roll top bath (sans shower which was sorely missed) and fluffy robes - essential for ultimate hotel comfort.

A brief but relaxing stay, I could have happily set up home on the armchair by the window with a good book for the entire week. Just the cure for anyone feeling burnt out from city life.
